In the first two chapters of the series, I spoke with Mike Calvert, a representative from the Office of Commerce at the American Embassy in Israel. Mike is a member of the US Commercial Service, which places foreigners in US embassies worldwide to promote American commercial interests. Currently, he is serving a four-year term as a commercial officer at the Tel Aviv Embassy.
In our discussions, we covered the various services (offered for free!) available to Israeli companies seeking to establish a production floor or a local company in the US. Our conversation also delved into fostering relationships between American and Israeli businesses, providing a "roadmap" service for the Israeli economy, and navigating the benefits, funds, and partnerships available to Israeli companies looking to set up a representative office in the USA.
